Service Description

Training led by the 'time to talk'™ Team Venue confirmed: Redhill Christian Centre Heath End, Snitterfield Stratford-upon-Avon CV37 0PQ Tuesday 18th June & 2nd July 2024 - 9.30am-2.30pm - you must attend both dates. Tier 3 cost If you are attending Tier 3, you will need access to a WellComm screening tool for your setting. This is not included in the price of the training. If you have a WellComm screening tool already, your practitioner can use that, but if you do not have one you will need to purchase one for your setting. They are available from GLL Assessments. Available to practitioners who have completed Tier 2 training Tier 3 training builds on and develops practitioner knowledge of speech, language and communication development, through the use of a formalised screening tool – the WellComm. An understanding of the observation and assessment tools available and when to use them will be provided. The training encourages and develops confident practitioners who are eager to engage parents and share information effectively with both parents and other professionals. Specific information will be provided to support practitioners in identifying children who require additional support including children who stammer. Practitioners will be supported in developing both structured and unstructured language enrichment opportunities within their setting and also to cascade what they have been learning to others in their team. As a result of this training, practitioners should: * Be able to confidently use the WellComm screening tool to identify a child’s language level and plan the next steps of support. * Be aware of the observation and assessment tools available to them and have an understanding of when to use each. * Be able to create a communication friendly environment and know how to apply interaction strategies. * Be able to identify those in need of additional support including children who stammer. have an understanding on how to engage parents to support their child and know how to refer a child to the Speech and Language Therapy service.

Cancellation Policy

Charging Policy In the event of cancellation by you, refunds will only be issued if 2 weeks or more notice have been given. If you need to transfer your booking to a different date, this will be at the discretion of the Hub. Where training is split into multiple sessions, if you are unable to attend a session, a cost will be incurred to join on a different date due to the hub not being able to resell the place. As a full space will need to be allocated, this will incur a 50% fee of the cost of the training course. Any non-attendance for any course with no notice given, will not be refunded, or transferred. In the event we need to cancel a course due to low numbers we will offer alternative dates. Cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as disruptive weather, pandemic or where training is deemed a risk to the delegate, we may have cause to cancel a training course, in these circumstances you will be contacted, and booking transferred to the next available date.
