Service Description

Training led by the 'time to talk'™ Team Available to all practitioners working within early years This training provides practitioners with an understanding of the importance of developing excellent early speech language and communication skills in babies and young children. It explores the different aspects of speech language and communication and gives practitioners strategies to support these effectively in their settings. Practitioners will consider observation and monitoring of the development of speech language and communication and how to identify and plan for children who need additional support. Emphasis will be placed on the role of the practitioner and the environment in early speech and language development. Practitioners will receive a copy of the communication monitoring tool. As a result of the training you will be able to: * Recognise and understand how the development of early speech, language and communication skills is dependent on the places children go and the people they spend time with. * Understand the importance of developing good early communication skills in babies and young children. * Understand what the 5 aspects of speech language and communication are. * Have some awareness of how to support each aspect of speech language and communication recognise the importance of observation and monitoring to inform the planning of speech and language support. *Feel more confident in planning the next steps for supporting children’s speech language and communication development.

Cancellation Policy

Please read our updated Terms & Conditions. *********** In the event of cancellation by you, refunds will only be issued if 2 weeks or more notice have been given. If you need to transfer your booking to a different date, this will be at the discretion of the Hub. Where training is split into multiple sessions, if you are unable to attend a session, a cost will be incurred to join on a different date due to the hub not being able to resell the place. As a full space will need to be allocated, this will incur a 50% fee of the cost of the training course. Paediatric First Aid training - Please note that 2 weeks’ notice is required to transfer your booking to another date or to cancel and receive a refund. If you do not attend Day 2 of the Paediatric First Aid training an additional charge of £50.00 will be issued for you to join another date. Any non-attendance with no notice given, will not be refunded, or transferred. In the event we need to cancel a course due to low numbers we will offer alternative dates. Cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as disruptive weather, pandemic or where training is deemed a risk to the delegate, we may have cause to cancel a training course, in these circumstances you will be contacted and booking transferred to the next available date. ***********
