Learning Behaviours Next Steps
Principles into Practice Led by Rachel Gillett, Kenilworth
Available spots
Service Description
Friday 20th June at 13.00pm to 15.00pm Following on from the work this year on Learning Behaviours with Jan Dubiel through the WEYH EY Aspiration Networks and autumn conference, this session will explore in greater depth the theories behind the processes by which children learn. With the Kenilworth and Whitnash Nursery Schools as a case study, Rachel Gillett will take delegates through elements of learning behaviours in detail, exploring how you can integrate this into your work so that staff teams will know what they are looking at and understand how to respond children; ultimately aiming to embed principles into all elements of practice. Attendees will leave the training with a greater understanding of what behaviours you are seeing with children in your school or setting, as well as what you are not seeing. By exploring these key concepts, you will start to see this as a way of thinking that enables you to understand what kind of learners your children are and how you can specifically plan and teach what is missing for them. The session will provide you with practical information you can start to use straight away – words and phrases you can articulate and model in practice to develop learning behaviours. To embed the work still further and promote co-construction of children’s crucial early learning, Rachel will explore examples of how you might convey these principles to parents and families.
