Understanding SEND – what we need to know This insightful course explores special educational needs and disabilities in our children. The course unpicks elements of working with SEND that are instantly applicable to the children in our care and enables learners to create inclusive and supportive environments for all of their children to thrive. Highlighting pitfalls and dispelling myths this course is an essential introduction to this fascinating subject and gives concrete methods for improving outcomes for all of our children. Diana Lawton – Inspired Children Diana is a senior consultant and trainer for Inspired Children. She has a degree in Psychology and an MA in Early Childhood studies with a near encyclopaedic knowledge of child development theory and early years procedure. She is also the owner manager of a group of settings in Leicestershire and Derbyshire. She was an integral part of the team developing the Birth to 5 Matters non statutory Guidance as well as the Level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard. She is an accomplished trainer having delivered a huge range of training across the UK and is currently working on her first text-book. Feedback from our last session: 'It was fabulous. Think Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent experience level. Please run it again - more people need to experience this - Real grassroots level that would benefit all of the team, not just the SEND staff'. 'Diana made it very easy to ask questions not only about the course content but also about individual challenges we may be facing in our own settings'. 'Thank you to Diana for her time and passion'.
