Service Description

Paediatric First Aid - Blended training Part 1 - Online units to be completed before Practical session Part 2 - Face to face training on 5th October 2024, 9am-3.30pm at St Michaels Children and Family Centre, Hazel Grove, Bedworth CV12 9DA Delivered by Tolan Training—(6 hrs online / 6hrs classroom) 3 year nationally recognised certificate, this course meets and exceeds the requirements laid down by Ofsted and Early Years Foundation Stage (2017) for people needing a 2 day 12 contact hour first aid course for Adult, infant and child, this group includes childminders and child care providers. The EYFS required syllabus is awarded in 2 units. Unit 1 - Level 3 Emergency Paediatric First Aid (6hrs) syllabus First Aid Priorities, Dealing with an Emergency, Choking – Child and Baby, Resuscitation (CPR) – Adult, Child and Baby, AED's, Bleeding and Shock, Minor Burns & Scalds Unit 2: Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (12 hrs) syllabus Casualty Examination – Secondary injuries Anaphylaxis, Burns & Scalds, Head, Neck and Spinal injuries, Eye & Ear, Nose injuries, Fractures and Dislocations, Sprains and Strains, Asthma, Poisoning, Effects of Heat and Cold, Childhood illnesses including Meningitis and Febrile Convulsions, Recording and Reporting Those delegates who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard, are awarded a certificate that is valid for three years. Anaphylaxis with Epi~Pen training is included with the PFA Level 3 training, however if any setting would like this delivered separately please contact us. All delegates must provide an email address to access the online part of the training, the information will be sent 3 weeks prior to the face to face session and must be completed in order to attended the Practical Assessments on the 5th October. The online sessions can be started and stopped as necessary but will take up to 5 hours to complete, depending on the learner. This training will only run if minimum numbers are met. Cancellation Policy

Charging Policy Please note that 2 weeks notice is required to transfer your booking to another date or to cancel and receive a refund. If you do not attend Day 2 of the Paediatric First Aid or the face face part of the blended training, an additional charge of £50.00 will be issued for you to join another date. We understand that there may be cases where less than a weeks notice can be given but please do get in touch if this is the case. Any non-attendance for any course with no notice given, will not be refunded, or transferred. In the event we need to cancel a course due to low numbers we will offer alternative dates. Cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances such as disruptive weather, pandemic or where training is deemed a risk to the delegate, we may have cause to cancel a training course, in these circumstances you will be contacted, and booking transferred to the next available date.
