Feeling Safe in an Unsafe World – (Supporting Children back to School or Nursery after Lockdown)
The course looks at children’s different experiences of the Covid19 crisis and how those experiences will have shaped the fundamental structure of their brains to directly effect their development and behaviour. We also examine why more traditional behaviour methods simply don’t work when it comes to supporting positive behaviour especially during and after a time of crisis. The course also highlights what is truly important for children’s well-being and how we need to focus on emotional well-being first and foremost if we want children to thrive. Working with children of all ages we need to be more aware than ever that children need time, patience and above all positive adults in their lives. Finally we highlight how children’s play may be effected by this crisis and how we can use different types of play to help children cope and build resilience.
The course is suitable for agencies working with all ages of children.
The course contains 11 bitesize video modules (plus bonus modules) that can be completed at a learners own speed and in their own time from a majority of devices. (Internet connection is required)
Training can be remotely accessed from your setting, home or even in isolation. The training is suitable for early years through to key stage 1 and 2. Whilst Awe and Wonder are EYFS specific the underlying ethos applies to all children.
The courses are available via an online link which will expire 6 months after the course date. Sessions can be viewed as many times as learners wish within the 6 month period. Certificates are supplied electronically and after course support is offered by phone or email.
